SEMA Central 2024

The 2024 SEMA Show has officially concluded, solidifying its status as the global epicenter of automotive innovation. The event brought together more than 2,400 exhibitors, including 580 first-time exhibitors, and attracted more than 160,000 attendees from 140 countries celebrating the industry at events throughout SEMA Week. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 5-8, this year's Show encompassed 1.2 million net square feet of indoor space and acres of outdoor exhibit space and activations showcasing groundbreaking products, cutting-edge technologies, and forward-thinking custom builds. The scope, energy and passion reaffirmed the SEMA Show as the premier automotive aftermarket event shaping the future of the industry.

"SEMA 2024 was a true celebration of where the automotive aftermarket industry is headed," said Mike Spagnola, SEMA president and CEO. "This year, we saw a remarkable convergence of innovation, collaboration, and passion, with exhibitors, builders, and enthusiasts all coming together to push the boundaries of what's possible. Innovation was the heart of SEMA Show 2024, driving the merger of creativity and technology across the Show floor."

"[This year's SEMA Show] was definitely a success because we met our goals, which was to meet and cultivate three new solid industry friendships and acquaintances--and pick up at least one new product to offer [in our shop]. We succeeded on both fronts by adding a new product line we'll stock and sell regularly, as well as adding a product that will be a special order offering for large ticket restyling [projects]," said attendee Steve Welch, a restyler who owns New York Customz offering automotive restyling, paint protective services and window tinting in Dothan, Alabama. "Adding industry contacts, in my opinion, is equally and almost more important. The old adage rings true with almost every avenue of life: it's not what you know, but who."

Whether it was the unveiling of next-gen products like the Revv ADAS PlusMilltek Forge Motorsport E-DV electronic diverter valve solution, or innovative designs like the Kia EV9 ADVNTR Concept, the event demonstrated that SEMA is not just a trade show—it's a catalyst for industry evolution.

SEMA SHOW CELEBRITIES: STARS BEHIND THE WHEEL

A staple for celebrity appearances and star-powered moments, the 2024 SEMA Show attracted major attention from both the entertainment and motorsports worlds. Among the most anticipated reveals was country music sensation Kane Brown's custom F-250 King Ranch. Displayed at the American Force Wheels booth, the stunning build had crowds buzzing as fans lined up for a glimpse of the star's personalized ride.

Chip Foose, legendary designer, brought his unmistakable touch to a number of custom builds, and Akira Nakai (known for his work with RAUH-Welt Begriff or RWB) created a one-of-a-kind Porsche 997—a milestone as his first-ever build at the SEMA Show, continuing his legacy of perfection and influence in the world of custom cars.

SEMA FEST AND CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT: CONNECTING THE INDUSTRY WITH FANS

SEMA Fest 2024

SEMA Fest expanded the Show's reach by offering the public a chance to engage with cutting-edge automotive designs, live music, and motorsports. Featuring performances from bands like Cage the Elephant and Sublime, SEMA Fest brought together music, motorsports and automotive culture for an unforgettable experience.

The SEMA Cruise was another crowd-pleaser, with more than 1,200 vehicles parading down Convention Center Drive, giving attendees a final chance to see some of the most innovative and jaw-dropping builds up close.

SEMA also opened its doors, literally and digitally, through the Friday Enthusiast Experience, an opportunity for the public to experience the Show on its final day, and SEMA Live, the Show's first-ever livestream, which attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers from around the world, giving the SEMA Show a true global audience.

Exhibitor Motorcycle Industry Council in Irvine, California, is a not-for-profit organization that works to spread the thrills of motorcycle riding. Its RideWithUs program, situated in the Diamond Lot outside of West Hall this year, saw several attendees learn how to ride a motorcycle, many for the first time in their lives. SEMA Live host JC Fernando even took a spin while livestreaming this year, with viewers watching him gear up with a helmet and driving suit before successfully--and safely--riding a motorcycle on the SEMA Show campus.

"SEMA is always a great Show--the energy is high, the people are stoked to be here, and when you have the opportunity to offer attendees an experience they can't get anywhere else," said Cinnamon Kernes, vice president of market expansion for Motorcycle Industry Council. "Automotive enthusiasts appreciate the fun that engines provide, and for many, riding a motorcycle would probably be something they'd really enjoy--they just need a chance to try it. And so that's what we did [with RideWithUs at SEMA this year]. We got them geared up, paired with a coach, and we put them on a motorcycle. Within minutes, they were riding and smiling.

"SEMA also attracts many knowledgeable younger enthusiasts as they offer student and educator badges for free. So we get to put motorcycling in front of the demographics we really want to reach," Kernes continued. "If you didn't get a chance to try riding a motorcycle at SEMA, there will be opportunities across the country at Motorcycle Safety Foundation-approved schools that offer free RIDE Days with certified MSF coaches. Check out MSF-USA.org for a schedule. And if you're not sure where to begin or are looking to rejoin the moto community, visit RideWithUs.com for inspiration and next steps."

SEMA SHOW 2024: MORE THAN JUST A TRADE SHOW

The 2024 SEMA Show was more than just a celebration of the latest products—it was an exploration of the future. The event served its role as the industry's innovation epicenter, where attendees engaged in 80+ seminars, hands-on workshops and networking events designed to keep them ahead in an ever-evolving industry.

SEMA's advocacy efforts were also front and center, underscoring the importance of collaboration across the industry. With initiatives like the SEMA Action Network (SAN) and the SEMA Political Action Committee (PAC), SEMA continues to advocate for policies that protect and promote the automotive aftermarket, ensuring the continued growth and success of the sector.

Ford Performance Parts & Accessories Introduces 'Ford Custom Garage' at 2024 SEMA Show
Ford Performance on the SEMA Show floor

In the Ford Performance Parts & Accessories booth was a must-have lineup of Ford trucks and SUVs, creating new opportunities to help customers imagine, build and show off the ride of their dreams with Ford Custom Garage, an easy new way for vehicle owners to customize their vehicle with exclusive, limited-edition appearance and performance upgrades that will change over time to stay fresh and unique.

In support of Ford Custom Garage, Ford Vehicle Personalization utilized the SEMA Show to showcase several concept project vehicles.

"We've created four previews of potential and planned future Ford Custom Garage customization packages for today's Bronco, Bronco Sport and F-150 customers, plus one head-turning tribute to Ford Truck heritage that has the heart of a supercharged Raptor R V8 and the soul of '69 F-100 style," said Kim Mathers, director of Ford Vehicle Personalization and Performance Parts.

Available for both on-road and off-road vehicles, Ford Custom Garage starts with two complete packages for Ford Bronco--Matte Black and Sinister Bronze--which are now available at Ford dealers across North America and were on display at the event last week.

Ford was also able to share that additional packages are coming soon, including the Dark Trail Series for Bronco, Blue Free Wheeling for Bronco Sport, and F-150 FP700S by Ford Performance Parts.

  • F-150 FP700S by Ford Performance Parts, an aggressive Street Truck that starts with a '24 Ford F-150 XL Regular Cab two-wheel drive.

Honda Racing Corporation Uses SEMA to Announce New High-Performance Parts Business
Honda Racing at the SEMA Show

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), also known as Honda Racing, is the motorsport subsidiary of the Honda Motor Company. Its SEMA Show booth this year showcased the brand's new performance parts division and prominently featured brand ambassador and auto expert Dionne Mascunana of OMG Builds.

"HRC is going to get into something really fun here. We're going to get into the high-performance parts business. At Honda, we race everything from Indy[Car] to IMSA to obviously Formula 1 and even Baja trucks. We have a lot of knowledge here with all of the HRC folks in Japan and here in America; we've got a lot of people who are versed in all disciplines of making cars go faster, and we want to be able to share all this know-how by creating performance parts so we could connect more with enthusiasts," said Jon Ikeda, senior vice president of HRC Business Division. "Going forward, we want to make authentic high-performance parts they will be able to put on their vehicles. It's an exciting day here for HRC at SEMA."

Among the Honda vehicles on display at SEMA were:

Formerly known as Honda Performance Development (HPD), HRC US has been winning races and championships on and off the road for three decades and will use this extensive know-how to introduce a new line of performance parts for retail customers.

Based on the strong interest generated by the Acura Integra Type S HRC Prototype, displayed at Monterey Car Week in August 2024, HRC has decided to move forward with the creation of new lines of authentic performance parts specifically for retail consumers in North America. These new parts will leverage the technical knowledge and expertise of championship-winning HRC race engineers, and the first prototypes are expected to be ready as early as next year. As a hugely successful racing brand for years, HRC US is uniquely positioned to offer parts for customers to enhance the performance of their own Honda and Acura vehicles.

"HRC US has been winning races and championships on and off-road for three decades, and we're excited to apply this experience to new lines of performance parts for Honda and Acura enthusiasts eager to augment their performance driving experience," said Ikeda. "To be an HRC genuine part, it must meet our exacting standards while functionally improving vehicle performance and the driving experience."

KIA America Inc. Makes Exciting Return to SEMA With Custom EV Concepts
KIA America at the SEMA Show

Kia America unveiled two all-new customized concept vehicles on the opening day of the SEMA Show. Imagined by designers from Kia Design Center America (KDCA), the concepts bring to life a future where vehicles will provide the ultimate in capability, adaptability, utility and organization, all with an eye on sustainability.

"Our vehicles already help people live their active and adventurous lifestyles, and it was fun to see just how far we could go with these latest concepts. The SEMA Show acts as a blank canvas for creativity and offers a glimpse into what Kia's automotive future may hold," said Steven Center, COO and executive vice president of Kia America.

There were two custom concept lifestyle KIA vehicles displayed at the SEMA Show:

  • EV9 ADVNTR CONCEPT EV SUV, a genuinely unique all-electric three-row SUV designed to take life well beyond the beaten path-- and conquer it. Built for serious fun, the '25 EV9 EV SUV has been refined into the most adventurous SUV Kia has ever imagined. With custom front and rear facias for a unique and rugged look--and reinforced rocker panels for increased capability and character--the EV9 ADVNTR EV SUV also features a 3-in." lift compared to the standard EV9 and a rugged tire and wheel combination to maximize the vehicle's off-road capability, and much more.
  • PV5 WKNDR CONCEPT EV VAN, based on Kia's recently debuted line of EV purpose beyond vehicles, is designed for small businesses and delivery functionality. It is a highly capable van lifted and equipped with off-road tires, an ideal escape pod for extended weekends in nature. The PV5 WKNDR EV VAN features a highly flexible and adaptable modular interior that can be easily and efficiently customized to maximize space and function--akin to a Swiss Army Knife on wheels.

"The aftermarket--for any manufacturer--is good business. Especially as we as a brand have become so focused and so good at utility vehicles, we knew that off-roading accessories and that space made a lot of sense. And we see this, especially in electrified vehicles, as a really good place because somebody who's going off-road wants to do it responsibly," said James Bell, head of corporate communications for Kia America.

Mopar/Stellantis Puts a Charge Into SEMA With New Concept Vehicles
MOPAR and Stellantis at the SEMA Show

Mopar put a serious charge into the SEMA Show with new, head-turning concept vehicles combined to showcase a wide range of distinctly different appearances and performance modifications to enthusiasts.

"Our new Mopar concept vehicles showcase different ends of the performance spectrum, bringing innovative design and engineering expertise with a zero-emissions muscle car concept and the latest ideas for the Ram Sport truck lineup," said Mike Koval Jr., head of Mopar North America. "Whether it's envisioning an electrified propulsion system or outfitting the most capable production off-road pickups, Mopar is ready to enhance the customer experience with quality-tested, factory-backed parts and accessories."

Among the Mopar vehicles on display at the SEMA Show include:

  • Plymouth GTX Electromod Concept, a peek into the future of possible battery-electric vehicle (BEV) conversion kit applications by showing a potential future Mopar e-Crate propulsion system for enthusiasts to build or convert classic and current cars and trucks into BEVs.
  • Ram 2500 Power Wagon Concept, which is a rugged HEMI-powered full-size truck that performs flawlessly as a daily workhorse or weekend warrior.
  • Moparized Ram 1500 RHO, now the latest addition to the Ram Sport truck lineup and a perfect canvas for the custom bold Mopar Blue bodyside graphics that provide a striking contrast from the satin metallic Diamond Black exterior underneath.

In addition, the Dodge performance parts brand Direct Connection showcased a lineup of crate engines and products, plus the Direct Connection HurriCrate Cat 3 crate engine-powered '87 Dodge D150 of Morgan Evans, winner of the Direct Connection Grudge Race at the recent Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge event.

Showgoers were also treated to the "power couple," a metallic blue and dual white striped Ram REV pulling a matching and modified version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee concept.

Jeep was also well represented on the SEMA Show floor, including several custom builds that made their debut after conquering the challenging trails in Moab, Utah, during the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari last March:

  • Jeep Low Down Concept
  • Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept
  • Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept, which will carry, for the first time, the newest custom piece from the design team at Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts. The Mopar ILLUMINAT3 off-road lighting accessory is a pivoting lightbar concept with patented innovative features, allowing the outer lights to hinge and rotate around the roof, illuminating all areas around the vehicle.
  • Jeep Vacationeer Concept

Nissan North America Brought the Thrill With Project Vehicles, Nissan Z Legend Accessory Package Concept
Nissan at the SEMA Show

Nissan brought the thrill to the SEMA Show with four project builds and an accessory concept illustrating how Nissan vehicles can be a canvas for four-wheeled excitement.

This year's Nissan project vehicles highlighted how owners might build on the distinctive styling and capability of the '25 Frontier pickup and all-new '25 Kicks crossover to build a unique vehicle that amplifies their personality.

Also making its debut is the Nissan Z Legend accessory package concept, inspired by the popular Z Heritage Edition. Recreating the throwback look of the limited-run '24 Z Heritage Edition, the Nissan Z Legend accessory package concept is an unmistakable homage to Z car history. The Legend package adds vintage-look wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, over-fenders and other decals. Easter eggs include an emblem on the C-pillar that showcases seven gears, a nod to the seven generations of the Nissan Z.

Among the SEMA Show vehicles on display in the Nissan booth were:

  • Project Trailgater, built in partnership with PowerNation TV's "Music City Trucks" and based on a '25 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X. SEMA News readers interested in learning more can view a three-part series of how the truck was built on the PowerNation channel.
  • Frontier TARMAC concept, a one-off street truck that embodies the spirit of sport and muscle trucks of the past. This vehicle was a collaboration between Nissan Motorsports, Nissan Design America and Forsberg Racing.
  • Kicks Beach Patrol concept, inspired by the rescue trucks that used to patrol beaches, this build features intelligent all-wheel drive and best-in-class standard ground clearance, priming it for adventures beyond the parking lot.
  • Kicks Urband Shadow concept, which takes inspiration from tuner culture with graphics, wheels and suspension modifications that promote on-road excitement. The build shows the potential for Kicks drivers to modify their vehicles and showcases prototype NISMO parts.

Toyota Motor North America Booth Overflowing With Modified Builds
Toyota Motor North America at the SEMA Show

The Toyota Motor North America booth was once again one of the most dominant forces on the SEMA Show floor, this year teeming with countless custom vehicles and innovations.

Among the Toyota vehicles on display at the SEMA Show were:

  • 4Runner TRD Surf Concept, which draws inspiration from an iconic time in history when the Toyota 4Runner became a staple at '80s SoCal beaches as surfers sought the perfect wave. Built at the Toyota Motorsports Garage, this unique vehicle blends the rugged, open-air spirit of the first-generation 4Runner with the modern styling and advanced technology of the all-new '25 model.
  • CALTY Land Cruiser Recreation Open eXperience (ROX), which is a bold reimagining of the iconic open-air, open-top Land Cruiser models of the past, designed for modern outdoor adventures. Spearheaded by Toyota's CALTY Design Research, the Land Cruiser ROX features a fully open-air design with custom "skeleton" doors, a sliding soft top, and a functional mid-gate for seamless integration with nature. Learn more about the CALTY Land Cruise ROX in this exclusive Toyota video below.
  • GR86 Rally Legacy Concept, which concept drew inspiration from the iconic Celica GT-Four rally cars as a tribute to Toyota's rich rally racing heritage. Based on a '24 GR86 with Performance Package, the build features a complete powertrain swap with the GR Corolla's turbocharged 3-cylinder GR-FOUR AWD drivetrain.
  • No. 84 Tacoma TRD ProRunner Race Concept, which celebrates Toyota's new partnership with Legacy Motor Club and legendary driver Jimmie Johnson. This concept tasked engineers to transform a two-door Tacoma XtraCab into a TRD-equipped desert racer.
  • Ultimate Tailgate Tundra, a custom build inspired by Toyota's relationship with the NFL as the Official Automotive Partner. This tailgating powerhouse features a custom staging shell with five 55-in. weatherproof outdoor screens and a bespoke audio system based on the JBL Club Marine Series.
  • Toyota RAV-X Concept, a groundbreaking crossover concept inspired by the rugged endurance reputation of the Dakar Rally. Developed by Toyota's Service Parts and Accessories Development (SPAD) team, this concept emphasizes agile off-road capability and high-speed performance.
  • Suprabird Tribute, conceived to honor the career of NASCAR legend Richard Petty--Toyota's newest ambassador--and as a celebration of Toyota's partnership with Legacy Motor Club.
  • Classic Adventure Cruiser, a tasteful build featuring a full Toyota TRD lift with Trailhunter front suspension and fully custom rear.
  • '94 Toyota Drift Truck, a pet project of Toyota Ambassador Rutledge Wood, this '94 Toyota Minitruck began life as a grocery-getter. With a surface aesthetic inspired by off-road Baja trucks, the truck's transformation includes fiberglass bed sides and a completely custom front-end conversion, combined with robust fenders.
  • Modellista Overland Vision Concept, as a part of the Associated Accessories Products (AAP) portfolio, this Land Cruiser build exemplifies the Modellista brand's sophisticated design and innovative approach.

Inside Calty's workshop, watch master craftsmen tackle the audacious challenge of transforming the Land Cruiser ROX. With SEMA's deadline looming, engineering ingenuity and design brilliance collide in this high-stakes episode of automotive artistry.

2024 Battle of the Builders Overall Winner Goes to Noah Alexander and the '68 Dodge Charger

2024 SEMA Show Battle of the Builders winner Noah Alexander

SEMA has announced the overall winner of the 2024 SEMA Battle of the Builders Presented by Mothers, the aftermarket industry's ultimate vehicle competition celebrating its second decade of providing builders a platform to showcase their craftsmanship and skills to a worldwide audience.

The 2024 Battle of the Builders title goes to Noah Alexander and the '68 Dodge Charger, which was selected as the overall winner from the Hot Rod/Hot Rod Truck category among 172 total entries.

"[To] be crowned the 2024 SEMA Battle of the Builders overall winner is] an amazing accolade. The competition every year is incredibly fierce, and we've been following it for years. Some of the people we look up to the most in the industry have won this award, so to appear alongside those people is really incredible," said Alexander on the SEMA Show stage. "The best for us was the incredible people we met. It was just amazing to talk to all of these other builders and hear what they do; they pull all their best talent and to share that is what this hobby is all about."

The beautiful build came to fruition after Alexander and the team at Classic Car Studio in St. Louis, Missouri, had a chance meeting several years ago.

"I want to thank Mr. Ed Ganzinotti. Ed bought this car about 20 years ago in Bakersfield, California, and we met him in the checkout line in Barrett-Jackson around six years ago," Alexander said.

SEMA Battle of the Builders presented by Mothers winner Noah Alexander

A couple of years later, Ganzinotti reached out to the Classic Car Studio about the Charger. "It started out as [a project where] we were going to fix some paint issues, do an interior refresh and rebuild the engine. We said, 'Ed, before we start, come to our shop, see what we're capable of, and become somewhat of a regular as we work on this build.'"

Once he saw the operation, the customer told the builders, "Guys, I want you to build me the baddest Charger out there." And the rest is now history, as Alexander and his team meticulously created this over-the-top refined build now known as the 2024 Battle of the Builders champion.

"The best part about the build is it has incredible drop-down gorgeous lines from the factory, so we wanted to keep that intact. We set out to modify as much as possible while being subtle and keeping it timeless. We sharpened all the lines; we tucked in the bumpers, we shaved the drip rails, and we just kept going and going. It's one of those cars where you have to step back to appreciate everything. There's lots of crazy metalwork on there, but we wanted to keep it looking like a Charger. It's a fully functional, nice driving car."

The announcement took place on Friday, November 8, on the SEMA Show stage in the Silver Lot outside of Central Hall. Coverage took place on SEMA Live, the new-for-2024 livestream program on YouTube here.

ARTISTIC PIT STOP

ARTISTIC PIT STOP

WHY CRUISING BY THE ART WALK CAN BOOST YOUR SEMA SHOW EXPERIENCE

BY CRISTIAN GONZALEZ

The Art Walk has been a featured tradition of the SEMA Show since the late ’80s, taking on many forms and artists. It began with promoter Bob Larivee talking with then-SEMA Board member Jim Davis. Larivee is a SEMA Hall of Fame inductee honored for his pioneering success with car shows. He started featuring art booths at the Pebble Beach and Meadowbrooks car shows, where he met with Davis. “I happened to mention art, and he liked art. He got me a spot right in the [SEMA Show] lobby, and I got together… maybe 15 or 20 [artists], and that was the beginning,” says Larivee.

Larivee was always particular about whom he brought to the Show. When asked to divulge further, he said, “A lot of designers would come to me and say they wanted to be a part of it, but all they did was paint cars. I said, ‘No, you got to paint a scene. You got to paint history.’”

MAKING A STATEMENT

Larivee, who continues to encourage artists to join the Art Walk, is immensely proud of the exhibit space and the artists found there. He sees the Art Walk as an integral part of the Show with a significant role to play. “I think it’s a chance to make a statement for the history of the sport,” said Larivee.

Ed Tillrock has been an artist working alongside SEMA since the rebirth of the Art Walk installment in 2013. Apart from featuring his work at the Show, Tillrock has produced artwork for SEMA, such as the association’s Hall of Fame inductee face sketches. A quick Google search of his automotive art will display a colorful mural of varying vehicle genres. “I think modern-day collectors and people involved in this industry like everything from a modern Porsche to an old hot rod to a dragster, and that’s how I’ve always looked at things. I like it all,” says Tillrock.

He continues, “I like old cars, and I like new cars, so for me, it kind of fits in with SEMA. If you walk around the Show, you’ll see an old custom. You’ll see a truck that’s jacked up 6 feet in the air with chrome underneath. Or you’ll see a Ferrari that’s a highly collectible car sitting next to a lowered C10 pickup truck. I think my art represents that.”

The Art Walk parallels the Show’s diverse offerings, but what can attendees take away from it?

EVERY PIECE FROM EVERY ARTIST REMINDS US WHY WE GOT INTO THE INDUSTRY IN THE FIRST PLACE AND WHY WE FIGHT TO KEEP IT ALIVE.

For one, there’s the awe-inspiring artwork found all along the Art Walk. Every piece from every artist reminds us why we got into the industry in the first place and why we fight to keep it alive. As featured artist Tom Fritz puts it, “It’s about the American fascination with the strongest and the fastest.”

Fritz adds, “I’ve got this opportunity to create a celebration of the vehicles that, since this whole thing got started, we know them to be exciting and cool, and they can take you anywhere you want to go while you can control the power and the speed and all of these represent a type of freedom that essentially continues to define American culture.”

A PLEASANT ESCAPE

For a less esoteric reason, it’s a good step away from the Show’s hubbub. “It’s a long Show,” says Fritz. “A lot of miles on the feet, but it gives [attendees] a break, and that break is an opportunity to both find and lose themselves at the same time.” Whether it’s taking a step back to breathe or finding something inspirational to hang in the office, Show attendees will find something to take away from it.

And if there are any doubts about the caliber of the artists and their work, Fritz is ready to put them to rest. “It’s all different, and the quality is way high. It’s not a Sunday show in the church parking lot. This is worldclass work,” he says. The artistry behind every piece speaks for itself. If these artists were a racing class, they would be Formula 1 drivers.

While art has a voice that speaks to us, the true heartbeat of the Art Walk comes from the artists. “These artists are very in touch with the people they’re serving,” said SEMA Show Operations Director Lorri Monty who oversees the Art Walk and works closely with the artists SEMA features.

“[The artists] love talking to [attendees] about their art because it is something they feel passionate about,” said Monty. Making conversation over art at SEMA is no different than conversing over a feature build. Much like the unique vehicles scattered throughout the convention center, an automotive painting can spark the same passionate discussions for a fraction of the cost. “Maybe someone can’t afford one of these vehicles on display at the Show,” says Monty, “but maybe they can buy some really cool art.

>>Art isn’t always printed on canvas. Sometimes, it’s printed on a skateboard.

>>Tom Fritz and other Art Walk artists aren’t there to just sell their work. They welcome socializing and meeting fellow enthusiasts and curious observers.

PLAN YOUR SHOW TRAVEL NOW

PLAN YOUR SHOW TRAVEL NOW

WHETHER IT’S BOOKING A HOTEL OR FLIGHT, OR SIMPLY COMMUTING TO THE SHOW, YOU’VE GOT SEVERAL COST-SAVING OPTIONS

BY SEMA MAGAZINE EDITORS

Whether you’re a SEMA Show first-timer or a seasoned veteran, everyone appreciates a stress-free travel experience—and all the better if it’s cost-effective as well. Fortunately, a little advance planning can save you worry, time and money getting to and from Las Vegas and the Show. Here are some top tips for airfare, hotels and ground transportation.

JETTING TO AND FROM LAS VEGAS

SEMA Show organizers have worked with major air carriers to secure discounted airfare for 2024 SEMA Show attendees. The following airlines offer special round-trip rates to Las Vegas in connection with the Show:

  • Alaska Airlines offers a 7% discount of published fares for valid travel dates October 28—November11, 2024.
  • United Airlines offers 2% to 10% discounts based on origin location for valid travel dates November 2—11, 2024.
  • Delta Airlines also offers special SEMA Show discounts.

For further details and booking instructions, visit semashow.com and click on the Hotel and Travel link.

BOOKING YOUR LAS VEGAS STAY

SEMA has partnered with onPeak—the 2024 SEMA Show’s only official hotel provider—to secure discounted rates at a selection of Las Vegas hotels. For ease of travel planning, and knowing that plans can change, onPeak offers convenient hotel options with flexible change and cancellation policies. SEMA encourages Showgoers to book through onPeak early for the best selection and price. Again, for further details and booking instructions, visit semashow.com and click on the Hotel and Travel link.

GETTING TO AND FROM THE CONVENTION CENTER IN LAS VEGAS

With ongoing construction throughout the city, as well as at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), traffic can be heavy and parking options limited. When commuting to and from the Show, please allow plenty of time. Moreover, Show officials strongly recommend public transportation and ride-sharing options for quick and easy trips.

LAS VEGAS MONORAIL

The Las Vegas Monorail provides quick, reliable, climate-controlled transportation for leisure and business travelers on the Las Vegas Strip. Directly connected to several Strip resort hotels as well as the LVCC, the monorail gets from one end of the Strip to the other in just minutes.

Trains arrive every few minutes at each of seven stations: MGM Grand Station, Horseshoe/Paris Las Vegas Station, Flamingo/Caesars Palace Station, Harrah’s/The LINQ Station, Boingo Station at Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate Las Vegas Station and SAHARA Las Vegas Station. The monorail system is open 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Monday; 7:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday; and 7:00 a.m.–3:00 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

In addition, 2024 SEMA Show attendees can obtain exclusive fare discounts by purchasing monorail tickets at tix.lvmonorail.com/SEMA24. VEGAS LOOP AT THE LVCC

The Boring Co. Loop quickly transports passengers across the 200-acre Las Vegas Convention Center campus in a fun and convenient way, free of charge. The system consists of two one-way, 0.8-mi. tunnels built to accommodate all-electric Tesla vehicles driving at speeds of up to 35 mph.

Five stations conveniently connect passengers with Resorts World, the Riviera and the LVCC West, Central and South Halls. On the LVCC campus, typical walking time from the West Hall to the North/Central Hall can take up to 25 minutes, but Loop makes the trip in about 2 minutes. Stations are as follows:

  • South Station: Adjacent to South Hall, this station is located aboveground.
  • Central Station: Near the Central Hall Main Entrance, this station is located below ground and is accessible via escalator or elevator.
  • West Station: Adjacent to West Hall, this station is located aboveground.
  • Riviera Station: At the North side of the West Hall closest to Elvis Presley Drive.
  • Resorts World Station: This station is located above ground.

There is no charge to travel between stations at the Las Vegas Convention Center. However, a valid Vegas Loop Ticket is required for any rides arriving from or departing to any station outside the LVCC campus. Visit lvloop.com/tickets to purchase tickets. Hours of operation vary based on LVCC events, but the current schedule is always available at lvloop.com/ operating-hours.

RIDE SHARING, TAXIS AND LIMOUSINES

There will be two designated transportation hubs where ride-sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, and taxis and limousines will be able to drop-off and pickup Show participants quickly and easily:

  • LVCC Blue Lot (east end of Grand Lobby, adjacent to Central Hall)
  • LVCC West Hall Transportation Lot (adjacent to West Hall)

STRIP AND DOWNTOWN EXPRESS

Las Vegas public buses run from downtown Las Vegas, to the LVCC, and to the Strip. Service includes 18 stops between the downtown Las Vegas Premium Outlets, to the City Parkway, to the LVCC, to the Fashion Show Mall/Bellagio/Excalibur/Mandalay Bay and to South Strip Transfer Terminal. Visit rtcsnv.com for details. Buses run approximately every 15 min., starting at 7:00 a.m. on Show days. (Normal operation starts at 9:00 a.m. all other days.)

SHOW PARKING FOR PERSONAL VEHICLES

Limited LVCC parking is available and rates are subject to change without notice. Plan in advance if you will be commuting to and from the Show in a personal vehicle. Updated parking information is available at semashow.com, via the SEMA Show mobile app, or by calling the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority at 877-VISITLV or 702-892-0711.

>>Consisting of underground tunnels navigated by Teslas running up to 35 mph, the Vegas Loop at the LVCC drastically cuts the time it would normally take to walk between the Show’s West, Central and South Halls.
