Plan Your Las Vegas Trip

Save on Travel, Hotels, Transportation and Dining

By Janet Lee

Book your official SEMA Show hotel room through onPeak and lock in discounted airfare with Alaska, United, Southwest and Delta. Everything you need to get to Las Vegas—in one place.

Like the vehicles that drive our industry, preparing for the SEMA Show requires coordinating many details. Whether you’re attending the event or exhibiting, you’ll need to arrange transportation, accommodations, daily travel and dining plans. In this guide, we’ll provide money-saving advice, practical planning ideas and food recommendations to help you make the most of SEMA Week and set you up for success from start to finish.

Lodging

If you haven’t already booked your accommodations, the first place we suggest looking for the best deals is semashow.com under the “hotel and travel” tab. SEMA has partnered with onPeak as its official hotel provider and offers attendees and exhibitors significant savings on their hotel reservations.

Apart from costs, be mindful of the distance between your hotel choice and the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). If you have early appointments or schedules, you don’t want your commute to be too far from campus in case Vegas traffic throws something unexpected at you.

Lastly, confirm your reservations before you are Vegas-bound. This ensures you have no hiccups or delays checking in to your rooms, and you can begin your SEMA Week smoothly.

Airfare

If you plan on flying into Vegas, SEMA has partnered with Alaska, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines so you can enjoy the best airfare prices set for SEMA Week. Use these codes to save on your and your team’s flights.

  • Alaska Airlines Online Discount Code: ECMO943 for 7% off published fares for travel dates October 27–November 9. 800-445-4435 (fee applies to phone reservations).
  • Delta Airlines: NY4K4 for 3%, 5% or 8% discounts* for travel dates October 27–November 9. 800-328-1111.
  • Southwest Airlines: Up to 10% off Choice Extra and Choice Preferred for travel dates October 31–November 9.
  • United Airlines Online Discount Code: ZS5W757550 for 2%, 5% or 7% discounts for travel dates October 27–November 9. 800-426-1122.

Shuttles

Getting around Las Vegas during SEMA Week is easier than you might think. While some attendees arrive by car, parking at the LVCC is extremely limited and generally restricted to nearby lots (check the SEMA mobile app for updated parking information). As a result, smart visitors rely on shuttles, rideshares and public transportation to travel to and from the Show.

To help attendees navigate the city, SEMA provides an extensive shuttle network from the Majestic Lot (across West Hall) and Platinum Lot (behind South Hall) serving major hotels on and off the Strip. Shuttle service begins each day at 7:00 a.m., with buses running approximately every 20 minutes until 10:30 a.m. Afternoon service resumes at 3:30 p.m. and continues through 6:30 p.m. On Friday, the final day of the Show, shuttle operations conclude at 5:00 p.m. With numerous pick-up and drop-off locations available, attendees have a convenient and reliable way to reach the convention campus throughout the week.

SEMA has arranged a fleet of shuttles with routes to nearly every big hotel on the strip and beyond.

Las Vegas Monorail

Monorail on track

(Below left) Attendees enjoy exclusive Monorail discounts.

The Las Vegas Monorail is an excellent way to get to the SEMA Show campus if your hotel is near a station. It conveniently tracks above Vegas traffic, making your commute time from any station no more than 10 minutes, and drops you off just outside the LVCC Central Hall.

Seven monorail stations and their corresponding hotels include: MGM Grand, Horseshoe/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrah’s/The LINQ, Boingo (LVCC), Westgate and, lastly, Sahara.

Attendees enjoy exclusive Monorail discounts. Purchase tickets at tix.lvmonorail.com/SEMA26 for the best rates available. Paper tickets are also available (at full price) from ticket kiosks and customer service desks. Hours of operation begin every day at 7:00 a.m. and end at midnight on Monday, 2:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 3:00 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Monorail riders also enjoy discounts across Las Vegas on things like food, entertainment and shopping. Learn more at lvmonorail.com/discounts.

The Loop

Vegas Loop station

(Below right) The LV Loop also features stations at Westgate, Encore Las Vegas and Resorts World Las Vegas, making it another transportation option to get to and from the LVCC.

The Las Vegas Loop is an underground transportation network that takes riders through various stations across the LVCC campus. This unique means of transportation saves you time and energy getting from one point to another, and it’s free for the LVCC grounds.

Walking from one end of the LVCC to the other could take up to 30 min. and lots of effort. Take a look at the Loop map, and leverage the free rides whenever possible to get to your location so you can spend more time where you want to be. It’s a week-long marathon, so don’t sprint.

The Loop also features stations at Westgate, Encore Las Vegas and Resorts World Las Vegas—making it another transportation option to get to and from the LVCC. However, these routes are fee-based, so visit lvloop.com/tickets for going rates.

Ride Share

If you and your team will be using ridesharing apps like Uber or Lyft, or even a taxi and limousine service, there are three designated transportation hubs you can get dropped off at.

There will be three designated transportation hubs where ride-sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, and taxi will be able to drop-off and pickup quickly and easily.

  • LVCC Blue Lot: east end of Grand Lobby, adjacent to Central Hall
  • LVCC Platinum Lot: across Sierra Vista Dr. from South Hall East Lobby
  • Majestic Lot: across from West Hall at Convention Center Dr. and Debbie Reynolds Dr.

Good Eats

Las Vegas is home to some world-class dining options, but you don’t need to spend big money every night. You’re going to want to carefully weigh cost, location and convenience when planning meals for yourself and your team throughout Show Week. Research low-cost dining options near the convention center or your hotel to save on transportation.

If you plan to experience some fine dining with your team or clients, be sure to make reservations well in advance, as Vegas sees an influx of people during this time and places get booked quickly.

Pro tip: Even if you do not have any scheduled after-Show meetings or dinners, add a few extra seats to your reservation weeks in advance. This way, you are prepared to take a potential client or business partner out on a moment’s notice.

As for lunch time during the Show, the LVCC campus hosts many food stands and food courts throughout the halls, many at modest pricing. Avoid the Vegas traffic going off campus and find your ideal cuisine near your next exhibitor visit.
