Revolutionary Modular Clutch brand, UniClutch set to define the flywheel space with the release of the Ultraflywheel range at SEMA 2024

This month, UniClutch unveiled its groundbreaking UniClutch ULTRA Flywheel, a world-first innovation set to transform the Clutch and flywheel sector. The ultra-lightweight design, compatible with any UniClutch Track core, delivers unparalleled performance for both street and track applications.

The UniClutch ULTRA Flywheel represents a quantum leap in flywheel technology, eliminating the need for a traditional flywheel friction surface. The substantial mass reduction achieved through precise CNC machining results in a perfectly balanced and precision-engineered masterpiece. This revolutionary design greatly reduces rotating inertia loss for new levels of MOI. Engineered with advanced Chromoly Steel Alloy, this SFI-approved component boasts a superior strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring longevity and peak performance under the most demanding conditions.

"We're thrilled to introduce the UniClutch ULTRA Flywheel to the market," said [Brad Davis, CEO at UniClutch. "This revolutionary design significantly reduces rotating, compared to OEM components and aftermarket options alike, achieving new levels of moment of inertia (MOI) that will excite both track racers and performance car enthusiasts alike."

At launch the UniClutch Ultra flywheel range covers a great range of vehicle and engine applications from American Muscle, Japanese and European applications. More Ultra flywheels will continue to be developed and added to the range in the coming months.

Here is an example of how much weight the Ultra flywheel can take out of the engine rotating assembly: a 2018 + Ford Mustang V8 S550 with a Coyote engine. The OEM dual mass flywheel and twin plate clutch weigh 27.5kg / 60lb, while a UniClutch Track on the factory dual mass flywheel weighs 25.8kg/57lb. Removing the OEM flywheel and replacing it with the UniClutch Ultra flywheel coupled with the UniClutch Track reduces the overall weight to 17.9kg /39 lb, which is an astounding total weight saving of 9.6kg /21lb while boosting a torque capacity of up to 2000nm.

Another example is a Chevrolet LSA engine commonly found in Cadillac CTSV, Camaro Zl1, various Australian HSV models, and a popular engine in resto-mod builds worldwide. The factory twin plate clutch and dual mass flywheel weigh a staggering 31.8 kg/70 lb, while the Ultra Flywheel with UniClutch Track ICT and fitment adaptor weighs 18.4kg / 40lb. This has a total weight saving of 13.4kg/29.5 lb.

Ultra flywheel images include engine applications such as Chev LS 6 & 8 Bolt, Ford Coyote, Dodge SRT, Nissan SR & RB, Toyota 1jzgte/2jzgte, Subaru EJ/FA series engines etc

The UniClutch Team is excited to show the Ultra flywheel range at SEMA Show 2024. Look out for the team at Central Hall booth 24115.
